The Stony Plain Cowboy Gathering Society is a brave group of dedicated volunteers committed to
"The preservation and presentation of historical and contemporary
Cowboy Poetry, Music and Art."
In 2008 the Stony Plain Cowboy Gathering Society will be hosting the 16th annual Edition of this legendary gathering. We've invited a crew of great artists from north of 49 (and one from south of the border) to join us this year.
In conjunction with Stony Plain’s 100th anniversary celebrations we have a solid representation of Alberta performers to honour the occasion. See our line-up on our PERFORMERS page.
And with the stellar line-up of poets, pickers, and artists coming in 2008, the gathering is shaping up to be the greatest ever and the Stony Plain Cowboy Gathering Society (The Posse) is ready and rarin' to go.
The mailing address of the society is:

CHRIS "DEPUTY DAWG" BASS
Director at Large
Chris has certainly earned his spurs with his dedicated duty in overseeing the site facilities. He knows how many the corrals will hold, where to bunch ‘em, what to do in an electrical storm. Top hand on this spread for years.

RAY ANDERSON:
Director at Large
It takes a mighty big crew to pull off a successful round-up. Ray pulls that fabulous crew of volunteers together and keeps them in formation. He has a handle on all aspects of the operation and is in there pitchin’, no matter what needs doin’.

GRAEME “Auzzie Dawsie” DAWES:
Director at Large
Graeme rides shotgun with Donna Cowan on our sponsorship wagon, plus a whole lot of out-ridin’. So if he’s covered in dust, it’s from bein’ on the move. A volunteer when we started in 1993. Posse member since 1995.

JEAN SHAUL:
Director at Large
Since our beginnings in 1993, Jean has been bringing our best western hospitality to those from other spreads who annually grace our Gathering’s stages. No one goes hungry when she’s around and we’re all treated with the true grace of a pure gold cowgirl.
